These days betting in football games is very popular among Nigerian youths. In fact, to some people, it has become a very lucrative and significant daily business. Global statistics have has  reported that 70% of Nigerians are football betting business youth. It has become more like a concoction or juju.

In Nigeria nowadays, you must observe that every corner of the street you go to, is overcrowded with some guys holding a little tear out white paper trying to engage in football betting. Nobody is left out as you can see ,even both old and young, touts, students and schoolboys. Some chooses to predict the football games at homes using their smart phones for easy betting or booking. If you go to these football betting centers, the passion in the eyes of this young ones will tell you that it has really become their livelihood. It seems not more a less ,a child's play. credit 

Well, looking at it and how faster the habit is growing day by day in the states, really in future it will become the only fastest and common business in the country but what surprise me most is that nobody is saying anything about it. The question here is- What must be the cause of it? To answer it ,many may say a lot of things and even argue it to the core. Of course ,crowd in respect of corruption, bad leaders, economics and inflationary problem in the country may say that bad Government is the cause. While other people may amicably say that the reason is that people see it as a place to get quick cool cash. credit 

Many at times some people commonly said that football betting has helped reduce crime rate in the country and I have to pinch my body a little “waoo”, oh really? Tell me about it. What crime has it reduced? To get it more clear someone maybe should tell me the meaning of “crime”.

Neither we agree it or not, football betting is gambling.

Poverty: One minute you are rich and the next you are down to your last kobo. Also if it entered in you as an addiction, consider your self an empty pocketer and a beggar to your friends.

Money wrong idea: No woman can endure an everyday gambling husband, unless he wins same all day- according to Thomas Robert Dewar. Football betting makes a person believe that the more you loose money, the more a day shall come for your turn to crack all the winnings beyond your lost, verse and Verser.   

Family Conflicts: It destroys relationship and family, colleagues, friends. Due to its obsession the person is isolated from the family members which more over caused serious family crisis. Certainly no parents will introduced his son as a football betting maniac. 

Lack of Vision: Those addicted gamblers, check their attitude, they are what i call SWP(Struggling without purpose). They live just for betting. Their dreams are always fantasy. Their hope is to one day win at least a billion naira. 

Lack of Creativity/Initiative: One can never be creative and innovative when all he thinks is how to bet. Have you ever wondered how those football betting sites were lunch and created by human beings like you? Come to think of if, imagine if Bill Gates gambles all day in his life ,would there be something called “Microsoft”. If Mark Zuckerberg was using his time to search for the best betting site, maybe Facebook would have not be in existence.

Let me put it clear to us. If no one is saying something about this menace then we’ll be raising a nation of gamblers.

Football betting can pay your bills for a time, no doubt , but it is never and can not be a reliable source of income or wealth. And know it well that lasting wealth does not come from football betting. It is for the SWP.

Go get a real life for your self. Make a difference. Go do something tangible for Africa and the global world.

The world needs you. Why bury such wonder great talent in you for a football betting center?
