The History Of The Club
Established in 1870 The Port Adelaide Football Club has been around for quite some time.
They initially participated in the South Australia Football League winning 34 premierships prior to applying and the AFL granting them a licence to launch a team in the national league in 1997.
In the SANFL they were known as the Port Adelaide Magpies, once transitioned into the AFL they became Port Power and won their first AFL flag in 2004.
The Magpies still play in the SANFL competition to this day and the Power recruits and players needing to find form can be found playing at their home at Alberton Oval.
Port Power and Adelaide Crows fans have a fierce rivalry going back many years, and during the season when they meet the state divides to support their club.
