God is almighty: But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. Psalm 33:11

Psalm 33 is a song of praise to the love (Agape) and the power of God, only the Lord is almighty and the creator of all things, says the Psalm. This Psalm is fundamentally a psalm written to express the devotion to God and his perfections, this beautiful psalm is an approach to the contemplative life.
This Psalm especially teaches that God is wise, and because of this wisdom God loves righteousness, mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness), and justice; expressed another way, the Psalm says that the perfect love (Agape) comes from his eternal word, because to love something we must know it first.
This is why the Psalm begins with these words:
"For the word of the LORD is right and true;
he is faithful in all he does.
The LORD loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of his unfailing love" Psalm 33:4-5.
And this is why the sensible man, with common sense, must live the fear of God, because the spiritual gift of fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion) is the first blessedness of man. And so the Psalm continues:
"Let all the earth fear the LORD;
let all the people of the world revere him.
For he spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded, and it stood firm" Psalm 33:8-9.
The eternal providence of God teaches the Psalm, directs the history of the nations, the Lord raises up the prophets and kings to carry out his mysterious designs; and just as he helps his devotees he sinks the purposes of the wicked:
"The LORD foils the plans of the nations;
he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever,
the purposes of his heart through all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD,
the people he chose for his inheritance" Psalm 33:10-12.
The Psalm ends by expressing the need for God's love, that love that edifies, that is benevolent, and that expands to all beings created by God:
"May your unfailing love be with us, LORD,
even as we put our hope in you" Psalm 33:22.
