Forgotten Friday: A Beachfront Airplane Wreck.

   It's Forgotten Friday again!  Every Friday I share some kind of cool abandoned, deserted, or otherwise forgotten piece of civilization that we've came across on our travels.
  Calling today's subject "forgotten" feels slightly misleading, to be honest.  It has become one of the most popular tourist locations in Iceland.  It is the discarded remains of US Navy DC3 aircraft that crashed on a black beach in 1973.

  There's a good chance you've seen this wreckage before.  As I mentioned, it's a super popular sight in Iceland.  Hell, you very well may have seen images of it on Steemit here.  I've seen several over the past few months.  Nonetheless, all of these photos are my own and I haven't shared them quite yet.  :)

  By the way, everyone did survive the crash.  I'm not sure why nothing was ever done with the aircraft.  I mean, never cleaned up and removed, nor salvaged and restored.  Oh well.  I do wish there was more of the wings and tail though.  It sure would look even cooler!
