A 'Forgotten Friday' bonus, folks. What luck, huh? I was torn between the castle ruins that I posted earlier today and the photos included here. Then I figured "Hey, I'm an adult. I can post them both, if I want." So that's exactly what I'm going to do.
Like the first ever "Forgotten Friday" post, these cars were found in the desert of Death Valley. These ones, however, were a bit younger than that first one. I'm not a car guy or know my automotive history, but it looks like these two were from the 1940's or early 1950's perhaps?
We came upon them while driving on a pretty desolate road (if you can even call it a road), on our way to the Panamint Dunes. There were all rusted and crunched up. Full of bullet holes as well... but kind of beautiful in their own way, as they sat side-by-side watching the sunset.
Now that I look at the photos, I'm left wondering how they got so squished?? Cars were built from a lot more solid, stronger steel back then. I wonder if the roofs could really be crushed down by people climbing or jumping on them? Perhaps someone with those massive, monster truck-like, souped up Jeep ran them over or something?? I don't know. Surely cool to look at though.

I love old wrecks and got a few posts of them myself. It's like they each have a little personal history to share.

Very nice images. I would love to know the story behind how those cars got out there, but I guess the desert keeps it secrets well!
