FOSSbot Feature Requests - Join the discussionsteemCreated with Sketch.

FOSSbot is a great free and open source voting bot for Steem created by @personz.

FOSSbot already does a great job at voting for what you tell it to vote for. Instead of starting new projects I hope we can build on top of FOSSbot and add a few more fancy features some other popular bots already have.

As recommended by @personz I've posted my feature requests on Github and I encourage everyone to join in and support the project or just share your ideas and wishes.

Requests:

Follow trusted curator's votes

https://github.com/Steem-FOSSbot/steem-fossbot-voter/issues/105

This feature would allow you to select a few accounts of people you trust to make good votes. The bot would vote for the posts they vote for while you are away.

Vote on Comments

https://github.com/Steem-FOSSbot/steem-fossbot-voter/issues/104

Some people post what could be considered a full article of it's own in the comments of an existing article. Many of these go unnoticed and at least deserve some selective bot support. Good comments should be encouraged more.

Flag instead of vote

https://github.com/Steem-FOSSbot/steem-fossbot-voter/issues/106

As Steem is becoming more popular we are seeing more and more spam and accounts gaming the rewards system. Delegating Steem Power to accounts dedicated to spam control is a good start. A good "antispam" bot for everyone is the next step.

Feature Request: Post a comment on voted for posts

Another cool request originally made by @juicypop is here:
https://github.com/Steem-FOSSbot/steem-fossbot-voter/issues/92

He proposed to add the option of posting a unique comment on each upvote the bot gives. I think it's a great idea as long as we don't use it for spam and I think there are many cases where an automated comment can be appropriate. @cheetah & @steemitboard for example.

Join the FOSSbot project and add your thoughts.

Together we are strong!

If you haven't tried it out yet check out my post

"FOSSbot - Free Open Source Steem Voting Bot - Instructions For Beginners"

https://steemit.com/voting/@camb/fossbot-free-open-source-steem-voting-bot-instructions-for-beginners

@personz made FOSSbot in part to eliminate the unfair advantage a closed source voting bot can give it's owner.

Some bots act bad, but it looks like bots are becoming more and more important to the Steem network as spam controllers and autopilots for users who sometimes can't find enough time to use Steem.

Vote @camb for witness so that I can contribute my resources to securing the Steem network for us all.

Yes FOSSbot is a must have tool to manage some automated votes, resteemed so my followers can pick up on your instructions as well ;)

I still have to work out how the comment feature should look like and write an article about it, hope I will have time for it this weekend :)

Greetings from
Djangos story @juicypop

Thanks for the resteem. Let me know when you get that article done.

Sure :)

I'll let you know as soon as it's written, if I should however forget it, I will update on github so you should be notified too ;D

Followed you too just in case ;)

Nothing can be as sexy as a FLOSS robot.
Thanks in advance.

Don't quite get the comment. But thanks!
