CNC tries to engrave the Declaration of Independence (William Stone did it by hand on copper!)

This is what happens when you push the limits of a 30,000$ computer program. The Declaration of Independence crashed the computer several times when trying to generate a toolpath that will engrave the entire document. Finally after 45 mins (and telling me it wasn't responding a few hundred times) it gave me a tool path and generated G-code for almost all of the document. It has over 57 million characters (UPDATED VERSION), and is somewhere in the range of 20,000-30,000 pages. ( it keeps crashing the computer at 20,000). That is 29 miles of travel for the spindle of the CNC. William Stone has my ultimate respect, he did the entire document by hand!
