Waiting for my account to be nullified.

in fourfourfourfour •  5 years ago

I invested 4 years in steem.
helped the community grow with a great team at four different SteemFests accross the globe

built a ton of apps and tools on top of the platform and for the platform. did presentations at big tech companies about it.

yet. if the rumors are true: it seems some people here want to nullify my account after blocking access to my stake previously. (as of current I am
unable to transfer my stake or vote)

time will tell.

Crazy. How can anyone trust Steem if they do this?

The V.22.2 Cabal started all this by freezing $10 million of assets of Mr. Sun. His retaliation has no merit, yet let's not forget who picked this fight in the first place.

Very true. The precedent was set. I objected to it. It had already happend.

The crypto-currency community shouldn't rely too much on precedent. Re-evaluate your PoS coins, with the knowledge they could disappear at anytime. It's just easier to do this theft on Steem for the moderately rich because we make transactions through ids.

The good that has come out of Steem is a decentralized login system (and the rest of the social media backend).

I objected to it.

Me as well.

Exactly! Justin Sun started it when he announced he was going to move steem to the Tron network

"who picked this fight in the first place"
Do you actually think there's some kind of fight happening? Who are the people involved in the fighting?

The people whose power and control in the position of the top 20 witnesses was threatened by the stake that could threaten that power, Justin Sun. There was even a Korean whale with the balance of power who left 5 of Justin Sun's witness sock puppets and 5 of the original V.22.2 Cabal as top 20 witnesses, allowing time for dialogue by no one with enough consensus to install a new version. The V.22.2 Cabal's response was a vindicative fork to HIVE; blacklisting the very whale that was suggesting dialogue between the two parties. This fork has done nothing but highlight human greed and the failure of DPoS Governance to protect the integrity of the blockchain. That was the intended role of the witnesses; not to alter the chain's history to reinforce their power base but to secure that ledger's history.

Actions speak louder than words. It was the actions of the V.22.2 Cabal which fired the first shot in the distruction of the STEEM/HIVE projects. It is hard to imagine any crypto investor considering either chain secure at this stage.

There is no such thing as a 'vindictive fork'. lol.
Forks are just variants made through free will off the back of the developers involved. Put down the Koolaid.

By this logic the new proposed fork deleting these account balances is also not vindictive, simply a variant made through free will..

The problem with the whole situation is everyone is wrong... Humans are dumb... The one's in control appear to be human... Ergo, ya'll gonna do sum dumb shit.

This fork is dumb, the last fork was dumb, the softfork was stupid.. so very very stupid.. I can't begin to express how stupid... I mean come on... Any of us less stupid chimps foresaw this reaction..

My only regret for being in power down on both chains is that my upvote will not reward your comment enough. 😎

There is no such thing as a 'vindictive fork'.

There is one now and it is called HIVE. Name one fork that changed history prior to the fork's creation. Even Etherium rolled back time they did not change history. Thought witnesses were there to protect the ledger's history not alter it.

I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing because I can't make sense of what you are saying here. You appear to be saying that Hive is the 'vindictive fork'. Vindictive implies 'vengeful' or 'cruel', however, HIVE is just a fork created by industrious people using open source code. There is no inherent attack with such a fork, it's just a statement of disagreement with regards how STEEM is being run and a courageous move to offer something different. No-one is 'owed' anything by the creators of HIVE and no-one is obliged to use it - it's all voluntary. If Hive is 'in the wrong', then 'let the market decide' and it will all be irrelevant since Hive will die. In reality, it seems so far the markets see Hive as just fine.

If you think things are being run differently on HIVE then allow me to not disturb your illusion. If you think the blacklistings et al were not vindictive then allow me to not disturb your illusion. DPoS Governance, on both chains, has proven to be a failure in my opinion. Only a few more weeks of powering down to be done with it.

At this stage, I don't see how anyone can trust, even these blockchain systems that claim to be "censorship resistant", as anything more than free hosting.

Let's think in simple terms, if instead of "crypto" that the platform was operating on real securities, Justin, the earlier steemit team, and anyone who was deciding the direction of the platform would EACH be facing 20+ year prison terms.

你好我刚刚加入正在了解中

길고 관련된 이야기입니다. 이것은 더 큰 전쟁에서 불행한 사상자 중 하나입니다.

Te contesto en castellano.

Parece más una declaración que una respuesta para mí. 😎

I severely hope this won't happen. I barely know you aside from your work, but Steem really can't afford to do something like this at this time IMO. Complete lack of decentralization if that's the case. No security either.

Complete lack of decentralization ✅

No security either. ✅

Aint DPoS grand!

Wait...
How is it even possible to black your access to your STEEM? This seems absolutely atrocious.

That's probably what Justin Sun thought when his newly purchased $10 million stake in STEEM was frozen by the V.22.2 Cabal.

too many dicks in this post. othersiwe, I found it an intresting to convey the diff opinions.

You can block the dick posting accounts.

Perhaps you would be interested in my devious plan to make being even a witness sock puppet too risky, legally, by implementing a browser extension which will base64 code one's pics and post them to the blockchain for posterity.

The final step would be advertising the extension on the vilest dark net forums; though perhaps the perverts would find it on their own.

A proof of concept site is presently working using Perl, at the moment, yet an extension would give the creator less liability in my opinion; never having to house the pics even for the short moments for encoding purposes.

You're welcome to run with this ball as my motivation may not be as great as yours to see the concept become reality; not to mention your masterful skills as a programmer would likely see it come into production much quicker.

Anything like that, the criminal morons who think they run this sham of a blockchain will just copy/paste the code. Don't.

This hard fork will punish discrimination against specific groups.

You have convinced me the true value of Proof of Work chains. This could never happen on a POW chain.

Yes, both Hive and Steem have removed assets from accounts. They have both shown that they can and will do it. Precedences have been set.

This kind of regime has a name.

Super!!!!!👍

Have you seen what happened in the @community321 wallet:

https://steempeak.com/@community321/transfers

Looks like something went horribly wrong.

Insanity :(

this really sucks. if anyone deserves my respect on steem it is you. you created Steemfest and put everything on the line.
we never expected it to end this way.
i am at a loss for words actually, i have no way of knowing how this is affecting you.

They 100% will not give anything back, because they don't care about these users. Justin just has his panties in a bunch and wants to fuck them.

Isn't it interesting that the HIVE devs chose to take funds from many accounts that came over from STEEM yet decided to keep the content that brings value to the blockchain of those same accounts. Wonder what that's called?

From what I see I can not express why accounts with high SP come and vote negative. Is that so? Where is the respect for the reputation and money that I brought to Steemit?

@bullionstackers ???

He supports the Criminal Hive chain with centralized Tokens and they illegally removed Koreans coins!

Not giving someone free tokens and stealing the tokens someone already has are 2 very different things.

Not giving someone free tokens and stealing the tokens someone already has are 2 very different things.

This is not how forks are handled traditionally. Even Etherium's fork, which undid a transaction did so by rolling back the clock on the chain prior to the smart contract's creation that froze Kazillions of tokens unintentionally. HIVE has changed the history of the blockchain by removing tokens from certain accounts while transferring some to others. They sell the hacks as airdrops is a narrative spin like the fork being necessary for decentralisation purposes. Let's see how that worked out....

hive-graph.png

Hive is more like Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Bitcoin SV (BSV) and Bitcoin Gold (BTG): A new chain with a copy of all assets.

Hive is absolutely how forks are handled traditionally.

Of course none of those forks removed assets from accounts. That was a mistake.

The only change to the bitcoin spin offs happened after the respective fork of each version. Past history was not changed. Even Etherium's fork, which removed a transaction, did so by rolling back the clock to before a certain smart contract was created which unintentionally froze Kazillions of tokens.

There was a blacklist in the HIVE forks resyncing code that specifically removed assets of targeted accounts. Your comparison is odious.

Was my last sentence not clear enough? And what part of “That was a mistake.” didn't convey my opposition to the black list?

Perhaps my reading stopped at, "Hive is absolutely how forks are handled traditionally."

We will just have to agree to disagree on this one. Again, taking everyones steem would be stealing something you already have. If I start a new blockchain tomorrow I am under no obligation to give anyone anything. Not giving you free things is completely different than taking something that is already yours.

It would be like if I started a company that gave free hats to everyone on Steemit, except for you. Sure, it sucks you don't get a free hat and everyone else did but I am not required to give you a free hat from the company I started. That is completely different than me going into your house and taking the hat you already own.

We might disagree on this issue but I sure as hell am glad we can have a discussion about it. I don't think it is right to censor someone for a difference of opinions. Communicating with people who have different opinions is the only way to at least try to see their point of view.

But your company stole all of the work I did for my company. Your company was even too lazy to zero out the records of my work. Your company just did not acknowledge the products of that work, and said that they gave everyone else free hats for the work they had done for my company. Your company excluded me despite the fact that your company is legit built on the work I did for my company.

If you were in my position, perhaps you would feel differently about a group of individuals copying four years of content, and excluding the stake that represents that content. The transactions are there, and they are fictional. Your company is corrupt.

You do understand open-source, particularly the MIT license, don’t you?

Nothing was stolen. STEEM and HIVE are based on the same public ledger blockchain. You own the keys. It is your content. Copying is not theft.

f I start a new blockchain tomorrow I am under no obligation to give anyone anything.

This is not traditional for blockchain forks. Normally the history of the chain is consistent up until the fork. Even if one is going to fork to their own hacked historical record which removed rewards from certain accounts, then should they not also erase all content from said accounts which may be bringing value to the new chain. No obligation of course yet ethically they seem like vindicitive school boys.

Hey kid, when you eventually make it to college, take an ethics class.

  ·  5 years ago Reveal Comment

if they do a hard fork, split the chain into for example "NEW STEEM" list it on exchanges so there is STEEM and NEW STEEM that would be legit, and no one would have a problem with that. you need to create new chain for that.

@cmp2020 you're a dick-sucker cock-sucker

@cmp2020 you're a dick-sucker cock-sucker

But a truth speaking dick-sucker, all the same. 😎

Who had coins removed? I didn't know about this. How would Hive be able to remove Steem?

Hive was a new fork, they didn't touch your Steem stake. It was a completely new and separate thing, so they didn't take anything from you. You didn't get free Hive tokens, nothing was stolen from you or anyone else who got blacklisted on Hive.

  ·  5 years ago (edited)

Perhaps the Steem fork will be a new fork with a zeroing, and an air drop too so they can make the same argument. Doesn't make it morally justifiable in my opinion. It wasn't justifiable on Hive either.

They stole years of my work, but excluded the stake/transactions that that work represents. A lot of what I had was from author and curation rewards. The chain still records those rewards as existing, but they do not. I think this makes Hive illegitimate as a blockchain. Over 90 percent of its transactions are void, and therefore inaccurately recorded.

I know the jist. It was an airdrop, so it was ok. That sets a dangerous precedent that you might get to see used against you (I use you as a way of saying Hive). I believe a common cliche fits here: "Live by the sword, die by the sword." Perhaps it would have been better to not set the precedent, or renounce it. You are now seeing the unintended consequences of claiming that it is okay to remove people's stake. No matter how eloquently you try to describe it, it is not okay, and it sets a very dangerous precedent.

The difference is that @roelandp and other earned or bought their Steem. For this new Steem HF to come in and zero out their balance is theft. Hive was created as a totally new asset that was given to people at its creation. If you are too dumb to see the difference, that is your fault.

If Hive was completely new? Why is it that all of it's transactions were identical to Steem's when it was created. They went through the code, and changed every Steem to Hive, and removed the Stakes of certain users they didn't like. I recommend you read this. Thanks for being respectful. Don't come crying to me when the same strategy is used against you. I'm too dumb to help.

  ·  5 years ago (edited)

Hive created a new chain with a new name, everyone still had the same amount of steem, and could transact with those.

I bought half a million steem during the last year. Which will, if the rumors are true, just disappear. You seriously want to compare that to a new chain with a new ticker, in which nobody invested before?

Yes. Because they copied another chain. Is this to say that if I copy someone else's English essay, word for word, and just change the title and author, that it is a completely new English essay?

I am sorry that you bought so much Steem, and might lose it. I already said that it is wrong for that to happen. I just wish you would acknowledge that it is exactly what happened to me. It is corrupt on both accounts.

said in the comment above, if witnesses create NEW STEEM as a new coin, it is absolutely legit. They can do what ever they want, and airdrop what ever they want, only one thing has to happen. Old Steem coin must be intact. so if they create new steem, list it on exchanges, make the option to trade steem for new steem, it is fine.

I copied something? When and where?

  ·  5 years ago (edited)

The Hive blockchain is not new, so it contains historical data. The HIVE tokens are new, you didn’t buy any of them hence you haven’t lost anything. Users like @roelandp have invested $$$ into Steem and that investment is now gone.

Hive is setting a precedence? Well you can come and HF Hive into a new blockchain with a new token and blacklist us, it’s all good because we have not invested into your new token so we have not lost anything.

  ·  5 years ago (edited)

Well, the historical data on the Hive chain says I was rewarded a ton of HIVE tokens in author and curation rewards. Maybe someone should try to make that accurate. They copied my content, and even a record of the rewards that that content SHOULD HAVE gotten, but did not actually copy the rewards.

Hive is setting a precedence? Well you can come and HF Hive into a new blockchain with a new token and blacklist us, it’s all good because we have not invested into your new token so we have not lost anything.

That is exactly what I am saying might happen (they might fork Steem into a new chain). I am saying that they might do exactly what Hive did to remove @roelandp's stake. I still view it as wrong because I viewed it as wrong when HIVE did it.

Your content wasn’t copied the chain was forked, your content was just not deleted. You can still login and empty your content.

Well there is nothing wrong with it, you didn’t loose any $$ by not getting Hive you just didn’t get more $$.

@cmp2020 stop crying and suck Justin Sun's dick

jajajaja

That is one impressive hard fork you have there Bernie!

How they removed you Hive stake when you never had it?

I did have it. See these photos:

How they removed you Hive stake when you never had it?

You so do not understand how a blockchain is meant to be an unalterable historical ledger. HIVE has changed the past on the blockchain. Even Etherium which altered a transaction in its fork did so by rollling back time prior to the smart contratc's creation which unintentionally froze Kazillions of tokens. What is being done on both the HIVE and STEEM chains in a testimony of the failure of DPoS Governance at this stage of its evolution. The OpenOrchard Project is giving me some optimism. A great team and a promise of no ninja activity prior to launch.

i seen roundbeargames on the list of accounts that will be nullified, not sure the list is true. do you know what he did? he had nothing to do with code, nothing to do with spam, nothing to do with creation of hive, only thing he did is talking against korean community supporting justin sun. so they decided that his coins should be taken away. maybe i am also on the list, just because i was not happy with what is going on.

No idea, but if not being happy with what is going on is the qualifier, then I am also on that list. It is wrong.

You claim that's wrong and then apologize for it and justify it in so many of your comments. Get your fucking story straight, genius.

i follow the guy for years. he is posting about game development. but he was vocal about Korean community (he is also Korean). i am sure he never spamed, tried to break steem... he was critical and had some posts about hive. that is kinda it. looks like a thin line to go. why would anyone invest if few wrong posts could cost you all of your coins?

My observations indicated that a large community supported whale in the Korean Community had the balance of power with witness voting to keep 5 of the original V.22.2 Cabal and 5 sock puppets of Mr. Sun in the top 20. The appeal for dialogue led to a vindicative hard fork creation of HIVE. This whale was also blacklisted on the chain's resync and their funds are mysteriously not there in the HIVE version of history.

and that has nothing to do with stealing coins from small steem user that was just against what Korean community was doing, and publicly wrote about it.
i see they are taking funds from accounts that never voted, never posted and never commented. he never even took any of the steem out of his wallet. his last activiti on the chain was Apr 8 '16. so what did he do?
https://steemd.com/@mottler
this is just an attempt for someone to get 500k of steem from an account that is not active. from what i seen on steemd he had nothing to do with what they said in this post. so why is he on the list? witnesses have no idea how to read data on the blockchain, or trying to get for them 500k from someone who will not make noise about it?

Of course the vindicative nature of the fork was a power and wealth grab. Instead of @nulling Steemit Inc.'s stake they will be placing it in the HIVE version of SPS (the name escapes me at the moment). Now if you think you will get a financed approval of a submitted project proposal without the V.22.2 Cabal's approval then there is a bridge in New York that you may be interested to purchase. Already the golden girl of the V.22.2 Cabal is requesting $30,000 for past efforts on the project.

  ·  5 years ago (edited)

english is not my native language so i maybe missed it, but i still can't see what did account that was not active for 4 years did to attack or endanger the chain. also i don't see how he was spamming the blockchain, looks like he was not spamming in 2016 and for sure he was not spamming in 2020 as he never posted a comment. but he does have 500k of steem, that will end up in someones private account.

Dude, seriously, you didnt loose any token on the hive fork, you just where excluded, you dont have any rights to hive token, any of us did, they selected some people to be excluded and thats it...

I may not agree with the reasons why they excluded you, thats another thing, but you didnt loose anything there... Maybe they did wrong by excluding some people, but not stealing wrong...

This hardfork is straight deleting peoples tokens, thats a lot of steem people invested and powered up, its not the same, and its not equally wrong, its just way more wrong... Not to mention they took the stake from accounts that have nothing to do, like https://steemd.com/@mottler-1
