Aujourd'hui nous surprenons un étrange animal, croisement entre entre mini-diplodocus et tamanoir, sur son tout aussi étrange arbre.

Il n'a pas l'air de trop savoir ce qu'il fait-là, et pour être honnête : moi non plus !

Imaginary exploration continues!

Today we catch a strange animal, hybrid of some mini-diplodocus and a tamanoir, standing on its also strange tree.

He doesn't seem understand what he's doing here, and to be honest: neither do I!

Mon intention était simple : quand j'ai posé le premier coup de pinceau sur la tablette de bois je voulais voir ce que pouvait donner un de mes habituelles structures crayonnées au graphite sur une base colorée.

Assez vite déçu du rendu monochrome, la couleur a supplanté le graphite.

Et avec elle arrive une multitude de propositions de la part du tableau. Les courbes abstraites se modèlent et acquièrent volume et matière. Peu à peu le paysage forestier prend forme et ne demande qu'à nous exhiber un specimen de sa faune.

My intention was simple: when I put the first brushstroke on the wooden shelf I wanted to see how (bad or well) would render one of my usual graphite pencil structures an pre-coloured base.

Promptly disappointed with the monochrome rendering, color came and replaced that good old graphite.

And with it comes a multitude of proposals from the painting. The abstract curves are gradually modelled and acquire volume and matter. Little by little the forest landscape takes shape and only demands to reveal a specimen of its fauna.

Finaly, here's a short timelapse showing the "non-process" of work : seeking for ideas on the row, provoking chaos and randomness until an interesting shape rises. Sorry no sound : lacking time for research of rights-free music that could fit with this :)
