Fractal jewelery designs

in fractal •  5 years ago

You know I stopped fractal creating since I have Linux both on my computer and laptop. That means I haven't rendered a single fractal image for some years, but I don't mind it. Painting and drawing by hand is more familiar for me. I'm still a bit nostalgic this evening, because I found some interesting pieces on an old harddisk that I don't use. I don't remember if I showed these pictures sometime here on Steemit. If they are among my thousands of Steemit posts, there is little chance that anyone would find them - I can't find them either.
The pictures were rendered with Mandelbulb, a 3D fractal software, that unfortunately doesn't work on Linux. They look like silver jewelery.

There's Mandelbulb software available on Linux. Why aren't you using it?
What distro are you running?

I have Ubuntu. I tried a Linux mandelbulb software, but the rendering was ugly and there were very limited amount of formulas.

OK, how about installing a virtual machine such as VitualBox, VMware or the like, installing Windows into that and then your favourite mandelbulb software. You'll have Windows running in a window. =)

You'll also be able to configure the virtual machine to share local resources such as storage and also cut and paste between Linux and Windows applications.

I've used the solution many times on my OpenSuse machine.
