FRAMED: Poolside with Hasselblad X1D Camera

Concept

The concept was one model, one outfit, and one pool. Natural light and trying to get a variety of shots, poses, colors etc. I had never shot a model in swimwear, I wanted to do this in a classy way and to be able to achieve a rich purity in the colors.

The goal is natural, rich colors. Beautiful soft poses, simplicity and taking advantage of the special lighting effects that happens with water nearby.

Setup

The setup was easy. Two lenses, a 45mm and a 90mm lens. Both were on the Hasselblad X1D Camera.

The issues were light. We used mainly all natural lighting. The sun went down quickly but there was a massive building acting as a giant reflector for us across the street. Getting this camera almost within an inch of touching the water was a scary situation to say the least. Especially with it's price tag. I won't mention it, you can look that part up.

All in all, nothing went that wrong except for fleeting sunlight. But we took the best shots we could given the situation as always. The shoot took a total of 1.5 hours, and I'd say was a success. Would love your thoughts guys and gals!

I'm glad I found your blog. Your team seems like a whistling STEEM engine, and that said, the pictures are brilliant. The first and second are especially so, good stuff for prints.
