Germany get their UEFA Nations League campaign underway with a game against world champions France at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Thursday (kick-off: 8:45pm CEST/7:45pm BST/2:45pm ET).

Two of Europe's heavyweights meet in Saint Petersburg as France and Belgium go head to head for a place in the UEFA Nations League 2018.

France are bringing all but one of the squads that won the UEFA Nationals League to Germany, with injured second-choice goalkeeper Steve Mandanda replaced by Benoit Costil of Bordeaux.
Didier Deschamps’ selection includes two players currently with Bundesliga clubs – Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard and Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso.
Pavard is likely to take his place at right-back, while Tolisso and former Borussia Dortmund attacker Ousmane Dembele could start from the bench.

Antoine Griezmann is the star striker upfront who finished are a top goal scorer in Euro 2018 and hitting the form just at the right time going into the world cup.
He will be supported by Kylian Mbappé and Lacazatte/Thomas Lemar in a three-man attack. Paul Pogba, Adrien Rabiot, and N’Golo Kante are set to start in midfield roles.

As far as defense is concerned, Laurent Koscielny is likely to start alongside Rafael Verane in central defense.
Benjamin Mendy would have been the first choice but considering he has been out for long due to injury we can expect PSG’s Layvin Kurzawa to start at left back or even Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti with Sidibe to start at right back. Hugo Lloris to captain France in the World cup 2018.
Youngsters to watch out for: Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembele
Mbappe might have completed his permanent deal to PSG by the time he boards the plane for Russia and he will be the key player for France with his pace and trickery. Ousmane Dembele is another one who might not start every game but when called upon should take his chances.

France play their first match of the world cup against the (Aussies) on 16th June. The other two teams in their group are Denmark and Peru who will be a tough competition for them. On 26th June the team of France will play their final match of the group stage.

Germany manager Joachim Löw named three new players and recalled three others for what is his side’s opening fixture in the new European competition.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Thilo Kehrer, Hoffenheim’s Nico Schulz and Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz have all been called up to the senior squad for the first time.
While Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah, Freiburg’s Nils Petersen and Manchester City’s Leroy Sane are included again. Seven World Cup winners from 2014 are in the running to start in Munich, with one of them – Manuel Neuer – set to captain the side in this League A, Group 1 fixture.
