Insurance fraud is investigated because it is in the insurance company's best interests to catch people.
As a private investigator, I strongly urge people to not commit insurance fraud. You will most likely be caught. People go to prison for it all the time.
Insurance companies have a good reason to investigate people too. Your damages amount to thousands of dollars a year. The insurance company can pay a PI for one day of surveillance though to prove that you're lying.
Then the company no longer has to pay the claim, and you, unfortunately, most likely go to prison. That type of work is endless too, and I know investigators that use it as their "bread and butter" to stay in business.
You filed a claim, months have passed, and you're living the high life.
That's exactly when the insurance company hires the private investigator. They don't do it immediately. A few months pass to allow people to think, "Man, I've gotten away with it. This is awesome!" No, you have not, and you're about to be burned.
If you have committed fraud and are still in the USA, chances are you will have an investigator assigned to your case. You will get caught. For the people filing such claims, I hope you were telling the truth.
This also applies to Social Security disability claims. If you file one and they even suspect foul play, your case will be investigated. Again, people who are caught usually go to jail. Don't do it!
It's an ethical issue.
Are you stealing from other private individuals who now have to pay higher insurance premiums, or are you getting Social Security benefits from the government?
Ultimately, the choice is yours, but I'm here to warn you that investigators regularly investigate such cases. If you are lying, you have a high chance of being caught.
I hope this information helps people avoid the serious consequences of insurance fraud. Please resteem this if you found the information valuable. Thank you!
Agreed. We should become more independent than that.

Yeah, I think people think they can get away with such things, but they almost always get caught.
