Fred Hoyle the famous astrophysicist, cosmologist and science fiction writer was born on the 24th June 1915, in Bingley, Yorkshire, England.
He had his tertiary education and postgraduate education in few prestigious universities of England including Cambridge. He served at the Institute of Astronomy, Cambridge University.
Hoyle was one of the pioneers in the modern study of stellar evolution and in the 1950 s his deduction about the nature of the carbon nucleus led to the modern theory of nucleosynthesis.
He has also presented theories regarding the first life on Earth and the origin of the Solar System. His views on the latter are known as the ‘Nova Theory’.
Fred Hoyle passed away on the 20th August 2001 in Bournemouth, England.
