Something that's been lost on me, and seemingly the rest of the freaking country, is the broader problem with what Trump said during his first presidency about the government possibly fact-checking media, and what the Biden/Harris administration actually tried to do to that effect.
This isn't just a free speech issue.
Somehow, a lot of us realized that, despite Trump's rhetoric, this regulation of the media would inevitably lead to collusion between the state and the media.
This has happened with every economic regulation in American history -- probably in world history.
Originally it's sold as the government getting involved to protect us from rapacious and mendacious corporations. All it ever results in is the corporations getting in bed with the government.
The free speech aspect is the most important. Still, damn people, actually look at the big picture.
