How does Q earn the tokens it distributes?
MAPX has no distribution - if you want that then look at MAP Rewarder at @accelerator.

Sorry, I didn't get you. If you're asking about the distribution of rewards that Q tokens earns, it's part of the curation reward earned by its bot account.
Ok, I'll give a look at your MAP Rewarder when I find some time for it. I feel delegating some SP to your accelerator account will probably lower the weight of the upvotes I currently receive from it ...just the way map10k upvotes got lowered when I purchased and staked a MAPX token! Hmm, that's not cool for me! Ok, fine, you send me those 33 tokens I'll see if that offers a better value in comparison to Q over a period of time. I'm sending you 30 STEEM.

Yes, same as Q, earn through curation rewards and posts, so the upvotes you seem to be getting may not last unless you, or anyone, is part of either MAPR or MAPX.
