Got a notification in freebitco.in "Use your browser to passively mine bitcoin and receive mining rewards instantly to your FreeBitco.in account, credited every 5 minutes." Anyone has any idea how this works and is it worth it? Is there any chance of laptop/PC being damaged from this sort of "mining"? join this site for free https://freebitco.in/?r=6112214

I would say yes it is worth it if you are still getting used to bitcoin and do not want to have a ton of risk. I did a post about this site over on my blog. Please go over and take a look! I do not have a lot to invest in bitcoin at this time, but using this sites mining and other features I am able to gain amounts that I am comfortable with. Plus, with you being able to mine without a contract of any kind it never hurts to try for a little while and if you are not happy you can stop. Think of it like training wheels for a lot of us that are not willing to push our crypto investments to the extreme. Thanks for the question and threw a vote your way buddy!

Hi rajaayaz, it could be true - and your browser will be loaded with ads and pop-ups, or it could be loaded with viruses. If it's the viruses then nevermind your PC being infected, I'd be more concerned about your credentials to wallets and actual mining websites.

The choice is truly yours and it could be either one of the above, I don't know but I've seen hacking and it's not pretty, stick to a trusted browser you know and a platform that's trusted.
