First you earn PTN (Pointcoin) for your web searches and then redeem/convert to Bitcoin. Depending on your country, you can earn quite quickly.
The model is simple: the browser extension requires that you change your search engine to Yahoo/Bing. The company earns revenue from ads on the search results but pays you in Pointcoin. Pointcoin itself isn't a cryptocurrency though - this is so that they keep their transaction fees low.
There's NO spyware, no "in-browser mining" of any kind. Just a clean browser extension to earn crypto for web searches.
