This is so true. The victim mentality is spreading like a virus throughout the internet and our everyday lives. I dunno if it is a result of bad parenting or a product of the time we live in?
Anyway - i like to remind myself that even though i think life is rough sometimes, i'm still part of the 1% of the world. Heck, even the people protesting against the 1% are a part of the 1%.
That thought always give me some perspective on my problems.

I think the problem is more complex than bad parenting. We have parents raising children that don't know any other way of existence.

If I was to try to put my finger on it I would say it is a bit of both (parenting and external environment), but perhaps being exacerbated by over-controlling governments and falling living standards. Up-voted and following. SirKnight.

I think you have a great point about the over-controlling governments. Here in Denmark the government takes care of everything in your life. You get "free" healthcare, "free" education, "free" social security checks. You never have to worry about anything in your life so when life finally hits you on the hard side you are not accustomed to it. I don't know about other countries but your comment made me reflect on my own! :) great input.
