Hello friends of steemit, as some of you know, I'm from Caracas-Venezuela, at this moment we are going through a time quite difficult and complicated.
Many of you in the last few weeks and months, have heard of Venezuela. A wonderful country, full of people as fighters, who are always willing to give the best of themselves, to live in the best conditions. In recent years, this desire of millions of Venezuelans, has been frustrated, because we live in precarious conditions.
The Government that this for 18 years in power, has led to the Venezuelans to misery, removing the opportunities and the hopes of being better. Unfortunately, the Venezuelan in the last 4 years, it has become very conformist with its situation, since everything seemed normal.
As a young woman I have felt a little frustrated, seeing as my country is in total chaos and I cannot do anything, to search for change it immediately. Last week I felt quite sad, with the death of a young man, who was fighting in the streets, for the freedom of Venezuela, was the victim of repression by the government, he was barely 17 years, i.e. not met a different government in its years of life.
We live in a country unfair, where the monthly salary, does not reach for nothing, where the essential products are not obtained, where the medicine to the people who need it do not exist and where hospitals there is no medical supplies to treat patients. Not to mention that the criminal violence, has availed itself of the streets, the police are quite inefficient and including that the judicial system does not work.
Venezuelans call freedom, we are fighting in the streets to get it, but has become quite difficult, due to the power they have the police and military of the state.
It is complicated for my view, as Venezuelans we are killing between ourselves, knowing very well that the enemy of the people, is in Miraflores (Palace of Government), enjoying all the money they have stolen, through corruption in state agencies. The country does not seem to have a solution in the short term and that personally I am very concerned, because this means that the situation will continue to deteriorate through the months.
Have been demonstrations in the past month repeatedly, and so must maintain the pressure to the government in the event that this is not the case, we will continue to live in the deplorable situation in which is Venezuela. The time is now, there should be no reverse, the Venezuelan cannot continue to live so that way.
Another of the things I have to mention is that the freedom of expression in the national television channels, is practically zero. The only way to make people aware of what is happening in the streets of Venezuela, is through social networks, it is virtually the only sources of information. And I say this because the government always speaks of that in Venezuela there is democracy and freedom of expression, but the truth no.
I say this as a citizen, in Venezuela there is no freedom, the Government has endeavored to lead the country to a critical state and fatal. The leaders of the opposition should seek the ways, so that people will keep protesting in the streets and to demonstrate peacefully, that the majority of Venezuelans want an urgent change.
It pains me to see die to my country, I find it hard not to cry, I am tired of seeing as my brothers Venezuelans are humiliated and mistreated by this government. A government that does not realize that the time they were just, who no longer have the opportunities, because the people has given many and have not been able to solve the problems.
The military are holding on to a few people who are destroying Venezuela. Do not was that the military defending the people? they seem to prefer to keep some incapable in the power, turn their backs on their people, being almost enemies of their brothers. I hope that Venezuela is free soon, a people so beautiful does not deserve to live well, a village full of riches but which is unfortunately very badly governed.
I would like to ask you a favor friends readers, share this message of a young father who wants the best for your child and for all Venezuelans, convey the message that we want freedom and that we are going to fight to the end to have the freedom that we so desire.
I would be interested in your take on the film I made about Venezuela? See below. I had help in gathering the information for this film from a local Venezuelan who's father was wrongfully imprisoned there.

The situation in Venezuela is incredibly frustrating for me. Hugo Chavez seemed to care deeply about his people. I wasn't there, so I cannot say for sure, however, the few documentaries I had seem demonstrated this. Chavez also enjoyed talking smack about the United States, so when he suddenly fell ill and died - well, that looked like the fingerprint of our deep state. Then I hear that after Chavez died - all of the sudden the military and government turn corrupt and deal drugs. My initial thought was:
"No one deals drugs in the America's without the CIA's blessing ..."
The fact is, that the U.S.A. has actively practiced destabilization of our Southern Neighbors for hundreds of years now. There is much to Argentina's downfall that, I wouldn't be surprised to learn, was at our hands. Many do not realize that Argentina was an economic powerhouse in the 1800's to early 1900's that easily rivaled the U.S.A. They easily could have emerged as the global powerhouse of the Western world.
We also remember the Iran Contra scandal and we know what torture and destruction we've put Central America through. So frankly, I don't buy it. I am not a Socialist, I think there are great flaws in Socialism, however, wouldn't it be just like our government to destabilize Venezuela and then go around, proudly stating "See what Socialism does?"
Another interesting point is that Chavez was talking about establishing Venezuela's own gold backed currency, before he suddenly became terminally ill and passed away.
Guess what? Same with Iraq and Gaddafi in Libya. Now why would the USA want to rub out any potential gold backed currencies? Maybe because Nixon took us off of the gold standard? Maybe because the only thing keeping the US Dollar the global reserve currency is our tenuous status as the petro dollar? Only you can decide because they sure as heck will never willingly tell us!

Venezuela backing their fake Central Bank run currency with gold has helped in the complete ransacking of their natural resources. Now they are selling their gold assets to pay the fake debts for dimes on the dollar, same with their oil. Venezuela is one of the richest countries in the world with natural resources, but socialism and central banking killed that country. It was a moronic idea to keep the same socialist policies, and to do nothing about the Central Bank's control of the currency, then backing up a fake currency with gold means the Venezuelans have to pay the fake debt in actual gold, which is moronic. The private banks have written that they want a return to a gold standard, and they don't care what backs up their currencies whether it be gold, or thin air, so long as private central banks control the currency.
This return to a "gold standard idea" is bad economics, unless you are willing to end the central banks control over the currency you will not be able to fix anything, no matter what you back their currency with.

Hey Titus, thanks for the elucidation. I had no idea that they had succeeded in establishing a gold backed system. Which, FWIW, I am not here to champion or deride. I'm more interested in truth. So, how are you so sure that our deep state has nothing to with what is occurring down there? I smell scam!
Are there any detailed write ups that you are aware of, detailing the supposed fake debt, how it was established, by whom and why is it being honored and by whom?
Interesting sentence:
"This return to a "gold standard idea" is bad economics, unless you are willing to end the central banks"
Could also be said like:
"Central banks owning and controlling our currency, without citizen oversight and transparency, is very bad economics. Establishing a currency backed by real value as opposed to debt, is a good start at returning to sane economic policy. "

The Central Bank of Venezuela has no oversight, it oversees your government, just like the Federal Reserve in the USA. Same Central banking system tied into the World Bank. It's main job is to ensure the currency never sees to much inflation. So let me ask you, how much is your central bank run currency worth these days? Think they have done a good job at keeping inflation at bay, which is their only reason to exist. No, they have sucked Venezuela dry and they will continue to do so forever.
The deep state is highly involved in all this, watch my film. They are using various CIA affiliated NGo's to cause violence.

This is so sad! I'm praying for you and your beautiful country! I visited there a couple decades ago when I was about 10. We went to a beautiful island called Margarita. My conclusion to your article is that the government is NOT a friend of the people and serves to keep itself rich and in existence... I fear this will happen and IS HAPPENING in America also. Our country is +$20 trillion in public debt and the politicians and elites are the ones getting richer, while the people have fewer and fewer opportunities. Future generations are being indebted to pay back a quality of life they weren't able to enjoy! Also, our schools are indebting students with massive student loans - it is a travesty really but people are either unwilling or unable to see what is going on. God bless you and thank you for being courageous and for sharing! Keep on being strong please, and continue letting people know what is going on there!!

My wife is from Venezuela. I want to share my brief experience with the country and the situation. I went there for the first time in 2012 I believe. 9 bolívares were worth $1 US at that time (black market). I have been there three times, and I would honestly tell anyone not to go there right now. My wife still has family there is afraid to ever return. She came here legally and is a permanent resident now. Anyway, today 5,113 bolívares = $1 US (black market). People are eating animals in the street and most people have lost a significant amount of weight. I feel for the people of the country and hope that a solution to Maduro's dictatorship comes promptly. MACHETE.

Everything you say is very true, Venezuelans in its majority, we aspire to a country of opportunity and progress, but to achieve this, we must continue with the demonstrations in the street.

@luisucv34 I heard that currently in Venezuela you can sustain your self for 6 month with an OZ of silver. Is this true? How valuable is an OZ of gold or silver when a country is in Venezuela's current situation?

If you have the chance of having a gold, silver or dollars, has a chance to live a little better, due to the disparity would change the country.

We here in the US see the violence in your country daily on the news. But they don't say why the violence is. Just that rebel factions are rebelling against the government. We used to hear a lot about Hugo Chavez. But since He died, Information has been scant and vague. We will keep you in our prayers.
God Bless
Don & Andrea
