Freedom is Living Life On Your Own Terms

tumblr_mbn62zGXLn1qei95oo1_500.gifI think freedom is something to be worked out for yourself. I honestly believe that no one can tell you exactly how to work that out, only you know what needs to be done to achieve the goals you set forth for yourself. Say for instance, I want to be free from a job that makes me unhappy, how am I going to work out a way to feel that I am earning a decent income without plugging away at a job that I hate? I need to find a means of supporting myself without a boss, a means to feel productive and give my life meaning without losing my self respect by bending to the system that tells me that working a nine to five job is the only way to live, or if I'm not earning a certain dollar amount then I am less of a human being than others. It's simply the status quo that these people are pushing on others who do not want to live in their box, by their dictates, rules and judgements. Yes, there are some people who don't know how to be free because they have been brainwashed and indoctrinated by institutions that want to control them, these institutions do not have the individual's needs, wants and desires in mind, they have their agenda and they push it onto others by propagandizing every aspect of human nature and existence. To be free, in my opinion, is to live life by your own terms and that is something no one else can decide for you.

There is no outline on how to be free, because freedom is something that is subjective, just as value is subjective. For each individual holds their own definition on what personal freedom means to him or her. Whether it be freedom from public schooling, freedom from the war on drugs, freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of the press, the pursuit of freedom has a long history for countless individuals with some of the most historically noted people fighting for their freedom from slave holders in the deep south who rather than treating other individuals whose skin tone was darker as human beings but as cattle to be traded in a market place. Can you imagine how dire of an urgency those people's need for freedom was then? It is still vital to many people across this planet, and it will remain to be of importance as long as there are governments and institutions who wish to instill fear, despondency, control, manipulation, and artificial scarcity upon the people.

Living life on your own terms without asking for permission from the state is for me the ticket to escaping a life of desperation and unhappiness. To give yourself the freedom to take that trip you've been planning for years, quit that job that makes you feel like shit each day you clock in, or the freedom to invest in decentralized networks with people who are also seeking freedom and relief is but a mere step towards creating a better world where our children and grand children will have the means to live more abundantly. As I have said before, it starts with you, the individual. You decide for yourself what you want to do in this life, and do it with all you have in you. Forget what the Joneses' have to say and go with what your heart is telling you, even when a thousand naysayers tell you you're crazy and foolish for believing in your dream. Go out and make it happen, it's your life!

This post is very well written and thought out and you touch on many very valid points in regards to " living life on life's terms "

If we cannot choose our happiness, our destinations, enjoy all freedoms and fulfill our destinies no matter how large or small they may be - then what is the point of humanity??

"Live the life you love and love the life you live"

I honestly appreciate the feedback and I seek out feedback on my posts because it makes me a better writer and I get to become better acquainted with my audience and possibly provide more material that they would enjoy reading! I appreciate that you took the time to read my post and comment! Feel free to drop by anytime!! Glad to have readers such as yourself!

I feel a little guilty reading this. I quit my job to pursue music production in April this year because I felt unhappy after having just qualified with a masters degree in physiotherapy. While working on my business I would always contemplate physio work when music wasn't paying enough. I thought i was done with physio, but I was unhappy because I wasn't practicing and I had a new degree going stale in the cabinet. 2017 has shown me that the path to freedom is so dynamic and feelings about what freedom is can change in a second. It really is a long journey

Hey, you quit your job to do something you love! So there's something to be said about going for what you love and living life according to your own free will and self determination! Be proud! It may take some time getting used to but it's well worth in the long run and you will have lived life at its fullest hopefully! I say do what makes you happiest and try not to worry about the things that you can't change!

Thanks for the encouraging words. It's something I battle with on a daily basis especially when the doubt monster comes to visit. I'll stick to it

No worries! I firmly believe that anyone can achieve his or her goals if he sets his mind to doing so and continues forward in patience and persistence. Remember, there's a light at the end of the tunnel!
