Social contract is really a complicated matter. I'd rather be the sole owner of my own life and decisions, but nobody is in fact. We a parts of a whole.

Would you please expound on that? I'm not sure what point you're trying to convey.

Quis dizer que nós somos partes em uma sociedade, e como tal estaremos sempre sujeitos a aceitar certas leis de convívio social.
It meant that we are part of a society, and as such we will always be subject to accept certain laws of social living.

2 things: 1)unfortunately i only speak English

  1. that sounds like "social contract" bullshit.

Yes, unfortunately we all are subject to a social contract because we live in a society that have some rules that need to be followed. You will never be free to do whatever you like if you live in society.

I suppose that's true on it's face but it certainly doesn't make it right.

Yes, we have no alternative but to obey. That is why we will never be 100% free while living in society. That is a trade off, you give up some freedom to live in society.

I didn't "give up" my freedom anymore than a child born into a prison gave up their freedom. I was born into this "society".

'Obey' sounds bad nevertheless

A pura verdade, é

its not complicated at all... there is no social contract. EZ. being in a society consenting to its rules is far from the idea of social contract.
