Magaret Thatcher was born on october 13, 1925 in Grantharn,England.Thatcher became Britains conservative party leader and in 1979 was elected prime minister, the first woman to hold the position.
Only a handful of peace time politicians can claim to have change the world. Magaret thatcher was one. She transformed not just her own conservative party, but the whole british politics. Her enthusiasm for privitization launched a global revolution and her willingness to stand up to tyranny helped to bring an end to soviet union.witson churchill won a war,but he never created an "ism". The essence of thatcherism was to oppose the states quo and bet on freedom-odd. Since as a prim, upwardly mobile striver,she was in someway the embodiment of conservatism. She thought nations could become great only if individuals were set free.unlike churchill's famous pudding, her struggles has a theme: The right of individuals to run their own lives as free as possible from micromanagement by the state.
Tatcher's tenure of 11 years and 209 days as a prime minister was the longest since lord salisbury (13 years and 252 days, in three spells) and the longest continuous period in office since lord liverpool.
Having led her party to general election victories three times in a row, she ranks as the most popular party leader in british history in terms of vote cast. Her final election win was hailed as an "historic hatrick".
