A Pen

A Pen is a simple thing.
It's something that does homework,
Signs your name...
People use it for opening packages or envelopes,
Some sign checks with it,
Or use it for figuring math.
But for me it's more than that,
Its a portal to expression,
Something that is overlooked.
It opens up feelings and emotions,
I never thought possible.
A pen can give me heart.
It can express anger or love...
It can express feelings of distrust or dishonesty,
It can do so much with just a little ink.
I'm astounded by what a pen can do...
Pink, purple, green or red,
Your simple black or blue.
Regardless the color your words flow freely...
Providing a gateway to your soul,
To your mind,
To your heart,
A Pen is so much more than a stick with ink.
It's a person, a feeling, a heart...
It's something that can provide so much,
With so little.
You can write in your diary,
Or on a simple sheet of paper...
No matter the outcome,
You can be proud in knowing,
It was you who made it,
You who expressed it.
You who became it.
You become the Pen...
The Pen becomes you.
A Pen is so much more than what you see.
It's me...
