Mishap. Missed happening. Fun change, though!
SO! It's not exactly a mishap... or is it? What's a mishap and what isn't? We're leaving today to go to meet @mariannewest in San Diego and attend Comic-Con, but the rental car company, when @stinawog showed up, said "we don't have a car" because reservations mean nothing. If you want to let this influence you, it's not the fault of the behind the counter person, who was very apologetic, but it is the fault of both rentalcars.com and Avis. Because this fellow didn't even have our phone number to call and tell Stina that they didn't have any cars today. Even though Stina had provided rentalcars.com with that info. Well UGH. anyways
So she decided to take the bus to a Hertz in Glendale. While on the bus, she called ahead to make sure the reservation SHE HAD JUST MADE would be honored. No cars there either. luckily she hadn't been on the bus for long, but UGH. Also weird. apparently people all pick up cars in the morning and return them in the afternoon, and she had arrived (as scheduled) between those times. UGH.
But! A quick FB (I know, better if it were steemit, but we need more Los Angeles Steem friends!) call out led us to a friend who would rent us her daughter's car.
Tada! So... hitting the road in a few hours!

I'm happy you were able to get something to drive. How frustrating! I signed up for Earn.com, but it's asking for my work email and I'm reluctant to provide that. Do they use that email and or sell them? I can't receive outside emails
