Most of all, it is the prestige of a curie vote that makes it valuable. Of course, the dozens of Steem don't go unnoticed, but that's not what it's really about.

I dipped my toe into curating for curie. I never actually did it, but I found out what it takes. I gotta say, EIP is not going to work the way its proponents claim, and I feel sure they know that. There's very little good undiscovered content on this platform. @curie finds it all and then some. I'm proud that I've been curie-curated, but I don't know that I even deserved it. I don't think reducing author rewards will cause more good authors to write here.

I am no longer ambivalent about EIP. I am actively against it. I think it's a very bad idea, and will only have positive impacts on the steem holdings of the already-rich. And furthermore, I think it will make steem less appealing, which will reduce the value of their steem holdings.

I don't think it's what we need. And, in fact, I think it's a solution in search of a problem.

Just the downvote pool? Maybe I can get on board with that. Maybe the whales that hate the bidbots will use their free downvotes to make the bidbots unprofitable. I can believe that.

But the proposed curve doesn't solve anything either. Massive numbers of accounts with diluted stake is not a problem that I've seen. I mean, there are those, but they aren't a problem any more than the individuals behind them.

Whatever. The big thing is that small stakeholders will have even less impact, and that won't feel good for users who want to reward content with upvotes.

This is not a good idea.
