Doobie doobie doobie doobie

Walrus, man.

Georgina had a walrus face. She wasn't ugly. She wasn't wearing a human face that looked vaguely like a walrus. She had a walrus face. The doctors who salvaged her skin from the fire could not reassemble it. The only thing they had available at the time, was the face of a very recently deceased walrus. It may seem gross, but it saved her life. The walrus had lived as long as it could, but when it gave up the ghost, it donated its face to Georgina.

Georgina was grateful. She loved her long whiskers. She loved her tusks. Most of all, she loved the big cheeks upon which her deep black eyes rested. It was occasionally heavy, she thought. The extra layers of blubber made her head tilt into her chest until the tusks hit her collarbones and kept her head propped at an angle. The most comfortable view she had was of the ground 3 feet in front of her. Through it all, she loved the face.

Her neck muscles grew stronger over time. She began to pose for magazines. The woman with the walrus face was the perfect person to advertise 20 gifts for your best friend that she doesn't know she'll love. Cosmopolitan signed her to a 20 year contract, insisting that watching her face grow from walrus-old walrus into human-old walrus would be a thing that kept subscribers from escaping.

Her face did. The blubber melted away. Soon her walrus face was sagging like a deflated balloon. She considered plastic surgery to plump the jowls, but she had spent so much time teaching about self-love that she knew she had a public to impress. She wanted to re-phrase her self-love message, to allow that sometimes plastic surgery would be a thing someone could honestly enjoy.

She wanted to, and so she did. Now walrus faces are on everyone, and Cosmopolitan is proud to feature the trendsetter every month.

This story looks more like a proverb to me or pun that is trying to say something, because, to a point I started to picture who it's referring to. But don't want to jump into conclusions.
