Freewrite - Hook

My cousin likes to tell me a particular story once in awhile when we get together.

It's the story of the time that, while attending a certain concert, she actually got the lead singer to come home with her to give her a personal serenade.

Keep in mind that my cousin is a very beautiful young lady. She literally has guys lined up all down the block every time I see her.

So who was the singer in question?

Well, I hate to call anybody out by name but you might be able to guess based on the title of this story.

The thing that I find so funny about the tale that she tells is her surprise in the way that this singer acted.

If we keep in mind that my cousin is an incredibly beautiful young lady that is very bubbly and wears incredibly short outfits, then we can only surmise that most of the guys she interacts with while out on the town would have some interest in getting her alone for some reason or another.

This is only exacerbated by the fact that she constantly drinks. If you mix sex appeal with alcohol then you are likely to find yourself in a few uncomfortable situations, such as the one she tells me about here.

Apparently she was really enjoying the concert. She had front row seats, and was dancing around with her girlfriends.

Everyone was making quite a scene.

She constantly waved at the singer to try to get his attention. She was a huge fan, after all.

When the concert was over she waited out back to get the man's autograph. He obliged quite quickly with a rather large smile.

"Oh...... I'd just do anything to get a private serenade at my house down the road." she blinked her pretty blue eyes several times.

Once again He obliged quite quickly with a rather LARGE smile.

If you can see where this is going, then you can see farther than she did.

They arrived at her house and she sat down on the couch. He had some musical equipment with him, but I'm not sure exactly which pieces. He began to sing, and strum out a melody.

She went into the kitchen to grab a couple of beers. Opening one with a small lighter, she placed her hand on his shoulder and danced around with him.

This is where the story gets odd for me.

He then thought that things were going in a particular direction, and acted on that thought.

She assumed that he was just giving her a little private concert out of the goodness of his heart.

Keep in mind that this is a professional singer who had just performed a rather long concert and then afterward was invited to a beautiful girl's house where he was given alcohol and promised that she would do anything to have him serenade her.

Empty promises?

Should those types of promises be kept?

Well, in my opinion a promise should not be made if it's not going to be kept.

The part that really gets to me is the fact that she had no idea that he actually expected something from her.

I think this has something to do with the fact that she's very beautiful so she expects the world to treat her in a particular fashion.

"We get all the things we want because we look so good."

However, this guy is a professional singer. He came to her house based on a promise. Now she tells a story as if he is some kind of jerk.

Personally, I don't get it.

Every time I hear the story I can't help but think that she treated this guy wrong.
