Movement - Freewrite

Well I certainly haven't done a freewrite in a while but I figured I would give this one a try.

When I think about movement I think about high school.

I'm not talking about going to class or taking notes or eating lunch or even socializing in the courtyard while we smoked cigarettes behind the counselors backs and talked about our futures.

No, I'm talking about partying downtown.

That's right, a big part of my high school experience meant getting into cars with a bunch of guys and girls and sneaking into clubs downtown.

We'd park on the side of a club and try to get in. We probably would not succeed so we would move on.

It might take us an hour or even two but eventually we would find a club that would let us in and we would start drinking.

I'm not just talking about the weekends either. We went downtown almost every night for as long as I can remember.

I think the reason I got into going downtown was because of a certain girl that I went out with for a month or so. The relationship didn't last long but the feeling she gave me of moving around and dancing and being on the floor with a drink in my hand was something that I couldn't easily forget.

I have a lot of different memories of being in high school.

I wouldn't necessarily say this is one of the defining moments either but it is something fun to think about.

There was a lot of movement back then and it was the fun kind of movement that you think back on fondly.

I miss those days.

Movement.

Beautiful memories 😀

Nothing better than school, is without a doubt the most beautiful and exciting experiences that I have, I knew the love, the passion and the adrenaline in those times.

I have also a memory like you.
Thanks for sharing your memories.

I don't want to miss the point about movement, but sneaking is a thrill, isn't it. I can see why children cannot resist the temptation!

Anything is better than video games....our 11 year old grandson doesn't even have to leave the house to visit. He just somehow tunes in his friends on his playstation thing and they all play the games together and can chat. In their own rooms, inside, basically alone🤔. Nobody goes nowhere these days. Even shopping is becoming keyboard oriented. Not good.

High school memories are something to accumulate and revisit. If you aren't on the move or don't move you aren't making good memories.....maybe?
