This will be my fourteenth 5 minute #freewrite here in the Steemiverse. Today's writing prompt is Sunset and you can find out more here. This Monday's Freewrite prompt can also be used for a contest collaboration with @jayna. The contest uses the same prompt but for a micro-fiction story with a word count of 250. This isn't an entry into the contest but it might be the beginning of an idea. So now, without further ado...
Sunset
It's time to get writing and the prompt has been given. It is a time when the sun sets down and rests for the day. He makes room for the moon to take her place in the night sky. His light leaves gracefully, slowly going down a horizon of orange, pink and red.
It is beautiful to behold. The dance inbetween the parts of the globe as we move around the sun. It is no wonder that in years gone by the humans who inhabited this world believed we were the center and the sun was beholden to us. It was the one that moved up and down and orbited us.
But then again, at the time of these kind of thoughts the idea wouldn't have been of orbiting, It would have been of rising and falling. We were flat and the sun was on some sort of pulley where it was pulled up to give light then let down each evening so that the light went out.
The moon however, just appeared. She sat in the sky at all times, but couldn't be seen until the light from the sun was removed.
