Day 745: 5 Minute Freewrite: Monday - Prompt: sea level

Awaking today the fog engulfs all space, my house looks like it's floating. The ocean smell is in the air and I live an hour from it. Has it been almost a year since I've been to the ocean? Ridiculous, I think the last time was when it was minus tide. Minus tide is when the sea level looks super low. Is it low or is the world titling and the big ole bathtub is on it's side for a couple hours? Minus tide only happens a few times a year, that's when the beach is forevermore, as in time to find treasures from the the great Mother ocean. Oregon beaches are full of sea shells and driftwood. One time I found a giant Newport blue agate when playing my Native American flute to the sunrise in Yachats, OR what a treasure that was, actually rolled out of the sea at my feet. There is carnelian, moonstone and all kinds of agates that show up when the sea level is low tide or after a big ole storm.
The Oregon coast can be fierce with howls and giant waves. I've headed out to the coast after a storm to find an entire beach loaded with driftwood, mostly ghost remnants of the logging industry, cedars, redwoods etc. It is the best time to go explore the treasures the Earth offers when the sea level is at low tide. Time for a trip to the coast, I can smell the fresh salty air now!
