Glasses - 5 Minute Freewrite Day 95

"A toast to ourselves!" said a voice.
"To ourselves!" replied the other overlapping the previous one.
The glasses jingled, making the liquid dance happily inside them, reddening in the warm light of the candles. A drop or maybe two spread out on the dark and shiny wooden table.
"One hundred... but what am I saying? A thousand... oh, why do we make fun of ourselves? Endless of these days!"
Both laughed out load, filling with their voices the low ceiling room, warm and collected. Then came the silence, broken only by the soft crackling of the fireplace, as they brought the glasses to their mouths, sipping the delicious nectar.
"Good, balanced, sugary aftertaste, what is it?"
"Have you noticed the faint hint of almonds in persistence?"
"I find it amabile, very amabile I would say."
She pointed to the rack behind her.
"For the anniversary of our hug, I have chosen the best of the reserve: a 2017 AB negative Steemian Red Cross Blood Bank."
"You did just fine!"
After other pleasantries and jokes, the celebration gradually diminished, until only the two empty glasses remained on the table, next to the blood bag.
The two vampires @brisby and @f3nix went up the basement stairs and returned to join the others in the Old Steemians Home.
The full moon spread an almost magical silver glow on all things. It made them want to take a walk before dawn.
From a corner of the garden, @improv looked at them, tilting his head to the side, intrigued. A werewolf does not need to toast with blood. He raised his paw and made a splash on the begonias...

...moreover he knew all the blood bags in the cellar were actually filled with tomato juice.
