Graceful, she was not. On the contrary - people would rather call her clumsy. Maybe a little bit chubby as well. But she wanted to be a ballerina and her heart was fluttering when she saw tutus and toe shoes and all the beautiful things ballerinas were wearing.
She really wanted to join the ballet classes and saw herself already as a little snowflake dancing and dancing and everyone could see that she was born to be a ballerina.
But her parents said no.
Maybe because deep down they knew that their little clumsy girl would just be laughed at and mocked if she tried to join the oh so exclusive dance studio.
Or maybe, they just didn't have the money.
Dancing is not cheap. Maybe if you are a hip-hop or breakdancer - but that was not even a dance yet when the little girl's heart was set to be the most beautiful swan there ever was seen dancing.
She twirled on her own, she moved her body - the music spoke to her. Some people listen to music. She felt the music in every cell of her body.
In the theater, the dancers were always her favorite part of the yearly theater performance all kids got to go to. Every year, it was a different fairytale told on stage. And in her mind, she was the one telling the story. All the lights were shining on her.

Awww - I remember a friend of mine who was like this. She wanted to be a ballerina, but she was not very graceful because of her weight. But that was still her dream. She still loves dancing to this day, even though she never went for it herself.
