Day 1441: 5 Minute Freewrite: Friday - Prompt: car repair
About a month ago or so my son bought himself a small bimmer and was very proud of it. From the outside, it didn't impress me. But once I drove it from Fresno to LA, I understood its good qualities: fast pick up, nice maneuverability, good on turns, and a stick. There is something pleasant about a short stick.
Last Sunday I picked up my son from LAX and let him drive it back to our house in Burbank. We took 405, then 101, and then 134. So, when we were just changed to 134, we were taran-rammed by a large SUV. A lady was changing lanes and speeding. I felt the bump quite a bit, and my son's pride and joy received some significant wounds on the passenger side.
The lady didn't stop and tried to run away. But even wounded our bimmer easily caught up with her and we photographed her license plate.
It's in the shop now. It turned out, the frame was bent and the car received 7k damage. Ouch!
