I've seen and been near hundreds of wild elephants in different reserves but never anything this close and personal. I loved it, brought back all the good memories. We have fortunately booked into the Kruger Park and other South African reserves for 2 months next year and will hopefully have many good experiences.
I've also witnessed scary situations and we've got our of there asap.
Many end BADLY.
Even though no words I had to upvote.
Thanks.

Thank you! You have a great memory and I hope to be able to read about all these incidents in your blog.

Back in my childhood, I read a book by the Scottish hunter whole the last name coincidentally was Hunter as well. When he was 17 years old he moved to Kenia and lived there all his life being a professional hunter.

This book greatly influenced me as he hunted all the most dangerous African animals: elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, and leopard. So I was imagining how I will go to safari and also hunt big scary beasts.

This has never happened. More so. Once in my life, I was in Mexicali - it's a small Mexican town near the border with the USA. There I went to see the bullfight. After reading Hemingway I was all pumped up about it.

What happened, in reality, was a complete 180 degrees reverse. This animal murder was extremely repulsive. I feel nearly vomiting. The poor bull was wounded and was laying down on the ground wanting just to be left alone and die. Instead, people on horses rode next to him and poked him with pikes. I couldn't take it and walk out. So in that sense, I am not a REAL MAN. )))

Real men in my opinion feel intense emotion and cry real tears when a situation is intense.
Is bull torture still done in Spain?
I think I would actually die if I witnessed what you saw. MY heart would surely stop.
It is incredible (BEYOND imagination) that people with hearts can enjoy this ghastly blood letting.
I know people who hunt for the pot and I've even eaten such meat. But trophies on a wall revolt me and the glass eyes of animals haunt me.

Yeah. It is still going on in Spain, Mexico and probably some other Latin countries.

Frightening and no panic.

That's for sure. The guy has balls of steel. )
