Here is my story for today.
Belt It Out, Dizzy Lizzy
That is banging. Belt it out a bit more! As loud as you like!
It is beautiful music and very loud. Thin Lizzy are a long time gone, Phil Lynott tragically succumbing to an overdose of drugs. But his memory is alive. I'm watching a tribute band called Dizzy Lizzy.
The singer looks like Phil Lynott. He wears all the gear, including a studded belt. He also sings and plays bass exactly like the great man. Classic songs perfectly executed. The guitar playing by the other members of the group is sublime.
We meet them after. But they're not from Ireland. They are from Birmingham, England.
It was near my birthday. The music has to finish by midnight, but the bar is open until 3. That is dangerous. We may be old, but we know how to live young (until the next morning).
Slippery nipples are on us. If you are wondering what that is, it is a shot drink with Sambuca and Baileys.
Nice.
I can't remember the rest of the story, apart from the fact that they are really great guys and we had a whole lot of fun. I'm sure the boys will be back in town again.

Unfortunately, I don't live in the UK now. If I had the chance, I'd go to the bike festival in May in my home town. That is a wild weekend. 😎

This was a story from 2014. I have since moved to Dubai. My life is more settled now, but I miss the UK for the music more than anything. Some great local bands too.
