Healing Mama with Milkshakes

in freewrite •  5 years ago

Back in 2011, my mama was in a tornado that destroyed her home and broke her body in a bunch of places. Thank God she kept her life, though!

One of the many doctors she saw during her healing process was a wound doctor. The doctor (after examining her wound on her leg from the boot she wore) said, “What I will need you to do is get yourself some Carnation Instant Breakfast and some regular vanilla ice cream (full fat, not the fat free stuff). Mix it all with milk and make a milkshake at least once a day for the next two weeks. This will help your body to continue the healing process.

She was super excited and we went to the store immediately after that appointment to get some Carnation Instant Breakfast and ice cream for her healing.

Who knew??

Wow! Must have been the protein and calcium in those shakes -- what a delightful cure!

Is this a true story, the tornado, the broken bones? The doctor's prescription is my first clue that this has to be fiction! I like this doctor!
I had thought @wonderwop would be the only other person to think of Nestles at the prompt Carnation. I was wrong. Thanks for this!
