Appointment Book
Delia looked at the clock and it was 8.47 am. She quickly get out of her modest hotel room and walked down the street to the Majestic. Her appointment was at 9.30 am but she wanted to pick the best table for her rendezvous this morning. She wanted to impress her boss but introducing him to a new contact who can bring a lot of potential for the business for this coming season.
She walked this paved alley on her heels and she casually caught a glimpse of boutique windows beautifully decorated for the holidays which are still closed at this early morning.
By 9.05 am, she arrived at the lobby of this beautiful Palace. She went around once and finally found a comfortable corner, ideal for her meeting today. She reached out to her phone and started to dial a number. She wanted to know where was the person she’s meeting. She heard the tones and no one answered. She opened her appointment book and found another number, a land line number. A lady answered the phone.
“Hello, good morning?”, said the voice on the other line.
“Good morning! It’s Delia and I am looking for Mr. Duhard?”
“Oh yes, he is at his office. Let me put you through.”
What? At his office? Our meeting is supposed to be here and not at his office which is one hour away, quickly Delia got upset.
“Hello Mr. Duhard, I don’t understand, we supposed to meet at Majestic Cannes and not at your office outside Nice.”
“Oh, mm, I’m sorry. I thought the meeting was for tomorrow. I misread my calendar, I am so sorry.”
It was a disappointment for Delia’s boss who arrived at 9.25 am, ready for the meeting which was canceled at the very last minute. Delia explained the situation to her boss who the decided not to work with that new contact.
Months went by and Delia never got in touch again with Mr Duhard.
Love from us x
Don’t forget your rendezvous 💙
@myrockandocean It is also important to use the mobile phone to confirm the appointment beforehand. Cheers
