This is my response to the Freewrite prompt, a daily writing exercise that I am really enjoying doing. Thank you @mariannewest for hosting these.
This one is not my usual animal theme. I'm thinking I may change to do either super heroes daily lives, or sci-fi. Any opinions?

Prompt: “Mini-van”
The five of them got out of the mini-van, more formerly known as the Mystery Machine. With a big stretch and a yawn, Shaggy patted Scooby’s head.
“Like, I'm hungry man. When's lunch?”
“Reah, rhen’s runch?”
“Ugh, you two always thinking with your stomach. We ate right before we left.” Daphne had a hard time understanding how they could always be hungry. She knew they liked food, but it could be a bit much sometimes.
“But that was like, ages ago. We're starrrrving,” Shaggy said, lifting up his shirt to show his somehow bone skinny ribs.
“Reah, re’re rarving,” said Scooby, breathing in so he too showed his ribs.
“Guys, that was barely two hours ago. But, if it'll make you happy, here, have some Scooby Snacks,” said Velma, shaking the box of their favorite treat.
The two ran towards Velma, arms and legs flailing in their haste as they kicked up a cloud of dust. They both started begging, and Velma shook a few treats into each other their mouths. After they recovered from an explosion of their taste buds, Fred addressed everyone.
“Ok gang, we have a mystery to solve.”
I'm honestly not sure if the Mystery Machine could be counted as a min-van. Maybe not, but for some reason it's what popped into my head for this prompt. Not exactly the most creative scene, but I wanted to try capturing their characteristics in a 5 minute freewrite. I hope I got close.
