5 Minute Freewrite - Prompt: Stranded on the sofa like whales with a plankton's indigestion

Kate groaned and pulled her knees toward her chest. The party had been great. Too great. She and her roommate had gorged themselves on hors d’oeuvres and talk and, eventually, one too many cocktails. Her stomach churned and threatened to explode while her head felt as though it were swimming in a glass of Sazerac.

"I feel like a bloated whale," Sheena said suddenly.

"A bloated, beached whale," agreed Kate.

"Shtranded on the sand," Sheena sang, the alcohol slurring her speech a little.

"A bloated whale, stranded on the sofa," Kate groaned.

Sheena laughed, the alcohol in her system making the situation far more amusing than it otherwise would have been. Kate tried to unfold herself and give Sheena a pitiful glare, but the motion caused a wave of nausea to crash into her.

"And those little shtuffed mushroomsh were plankton," laughed Sheena.

The thought of seafood intensified the nausea and Kate fought desperately to keep her food down.

"Bloated whalesh, shtranded on the sofa with shtuffed mushroom planktonsh shwimming in their belliesh," Sheena sang.

All at once, the nausea and indigestion hit its peak and Kate scrambled to the bathroom.

Note: What a tough prompt! This probably isn't the most creative story, but I'm still pretty happy with how it turned out. :-)
