Laced Drink #FreeWrite

Something shook the bed and consciousness flooded her mind. It was unreal and disturbing. Her mind struggled to stay alert but somehow her bed was moving, fast. For less than a minute, she floated in the uncertainty of whether it was a dream and how disturbing it would be if indeed her bed was moving.

It hit something and swayed slightly. That spread fear throughout her small frame. Her 'bed' was indeed speeding somewhere and it was impossible to move an inch of her drugged body. Her eyelids weighed more than usual so they remained shut.

Her mind raced as did her pulse. Her usually calm chest sounded like a thousand hooves galloping out her dry throat. She forced her recent memories with difficulty. Her efforts linking up the flashes in her mind slowly.

She remembered toasting with a foreign woman. Their dreadlocked hair was responsible for igniting a conversation between them. Her name was Leboo and she was in the country on a business trip. She was in her late thirties dressed in elegant African Khangas. They healthily argued about African politics and it's rotting economy and 'their children's' future.

The now what was obviously a moving vehicle hit a bump and derailed her train of memories. She had recalled enough to understand she was in danger and only option was to remain as calm as she could. She flashed back going to the loo once and finding Leboo pouring her a fresh drink.

What a beautiful snake? She thought to herself. She must've laced my drink when she was pouring! She cursed. A familiar voice chuckled. So you are up? It mocked. I suspected a drunk like you wouldn't be out for long! Her insides froze. It seemed like her past had finally caught up.

Petrified, her thoughts ran wild. How in the world did he find me?She wondered. Who could've sold me out? Only a few people knew her whereabouts. Trusted souls or so she thought. She recalled the beautiful stranger she was sharing her bottle of wine with. She knew if she wasn't a part of getting to her, she too had to be in trouble.

The vehicle came to a stop and the front door was rammed. He airlifted her out of the van and sat her on something. After a minute or so, she opened her eyes to find him dragging Leboo on the dirt. He threw her a sarcastic smile and airlifted her stranger friend to an old van. It immediately sped off.

She wanted to ask where she was being taken but her tongue wouldn't budge. I can see you have questions darling but first things first. How long did you think you can hide? I told you no one runs from me unless I agree to it. I am the king of the East! He teased.

With 'king' he meant the most feared pimp in East Africa and getting away from him took her two years of careful planning. Now here she was waiting to be his sex slave again. The would be riveting green paradise turned gloomy and dark. Her body ached as hopelessness shrouded her being.

She knew she would pay dearly for his seven years wrath. But still some small undying light swaying against her stormy emotions whispered the impossible... If you were to run again, where would you start? A moment. By figuring out first where you are. Her heart faintly smiled. Get to work then!
