#freewriting - Could this be love?

in freewrite •  6 years ago

They met at dancing class.
There were 2 of them, identical twins.
She wrote his name down at a large piece of paper and put it above the door of her bedroom.
"Please God", she prayed, "make him love me. If so I will never ask you for anything again."
As she moved a few months later she kept calling and writing him, he never wrote back.

Five years later they met again.
He showed up at her doorstep. The girl he had a relationship with left him. Did God hear her prayers after all?
Eight years of misery with the biggest narcissist on earth was the price she payed for her puppy love. More dead as alive she escaped. Over another 14 years he made a hell out of her life. Each year she had to move, had to find a saver place.
"We can not help you", the police said, "only if he kills you it is possible for us to arrest him".

Frequently she thought back at that certain moment.
That moment she wrote down his name, the days and nights she prayed for his love.

She kept her promise she never prayed or asked for anything again.

So many abused women can relate to this one!

so sad .... but also teaches a lesson ... that we should be careful for what we wish for.... we make so many decisions based on emotion and our feeling at that moment ... which are sometimes the worst decisions we can make .... things that are meant to be yours will come your way ... and somethings / people that pull away or leave maybe it’s bc they were never meant to be there to begin with . I think I needed to read this today ... bc I almost started to believe and wish things were different than the way they are going ... I needed a reality check .. lol

Well you have one... although its not said that what happens to one person will happen to others too... still it is something to think about, especially if your wish is based on the fact you feel lonesome... forever lovr turned out to be punished forever...

Very true ! Honestly , a relationship right now is the last thing I need . I went to a party had a great time .... two nice guys that I know they mutual
friends showed interest ... but I have none ... lol I have no interest in having a relationship with anyone ... it’s more work than it’s worth most of the time ! Lol

To be honest I feel the same. Over here men feels the need to be pampered and I simply do not have the energy to do so. To invest again, give in, does not give me energy/wings.
At least you know now you are attractive (keep in mind single always is).

This story does happen more than one time. It shows that you can only look into peoples face but not into their mind.
If you find a good wife or a good man, stay there. And think about your luck.
Again a great story. Thank you.

Exactly... a good man/wife/friend is precious

Wow! You have an outline for a good novel here. You ought to turn it into something bigger. I can picture her praying, and asking god for him to come back, only to discover after he comes back, he is cruel to her. A good lesson in the story, be careful what you wish for.

Love the imagination. Awesome!!

Who knows I will one day...

What a sad story. Equally sad about what the police told her. There sure are a lot of crazy people in this world!

There are for sure. She also never called the police again. In Holland they are not allowed to do anything in these cases...

All too true: "We can not help you", the police said, "only if he kills you it is possible for us to arrest him". And too sad.
I love the twist at the end - and the way she kept her promise.
For real, my husband's brother was once a concert pianist but repetitive strain injury to his hand (focal dystonia) put him in a job as liturgist for a church. One look at him and this redhead prayed, "Please, Jesus, make him mine." They've been married 35+ years now with two very musical sons. One a jazz guitarist, one a prep-school orchestra teacher. There's a story about a Catholic spinster who prayed and prayed for a husband, for years, to no avail. In frustration, she tossed her prayer statue of (whoever) out the window. It knocked out a man on the sidewalk below. You guessed it: that man became her husband! (Not even gonna search this to see if it's true. It's too good a story to care if it's true or not.)
