We look upon the world as adults and often feel the dissolution of dreams yet our pets thrive on simple pleasures like food, shelter and love. How simple it would be to retain our innocence and wonder of this world's gifts with the same simplicity and hope that we have our next meal and a warm bed to return to.
The toil of this life can pull us into desperate places where we stumble uncertain of our direction. Might we lay weary heads upon our pillows at night resting in knowledge of the day's kindnesses and pleasures rather than focus on the troubles which come like thunderstorms of lightning and rain.
Storms cleanse and bring us sustenance but often wash the dirt from our feet.
Today, I focus on the good that life has brought. My storms are but temporary obstacles shadowing the good that I've enjoyed.
Troubles bring with them growth and strength of character we would never learn apart from them.
The promise of this life is that all will experience some form of suffering, but survival begins and ends with the spirit to overcome, regardless of the circumstances.
I have such a great circle of love when I contemplate my journey thus far. I can only hope that my focus will always retain a sense of wonder and gratitude for what I have, even now, because no one promises a tomorrow better than today.

Bring forth the tears,
in resolute vindication we cling to the old ways.
Not bending like the reed.
From a broken pod comes the seed.

It just needs faith.. there are plenty of pets/animals who do not get their meal and shelter on a regular base. They are fine with it, humans are not.

I agree, many pets are less fortunate, but fare well outside and find their own shelter. It saddens me how many people are without homes and how harsh this world can be to both humans and animals. Thanks for reading @wakeupkitty
