It wasn’t easy to get players for the game. Harold tried his best to pick the perfect people, but it was quite the challenge. The game he created was not for the faint of heart and require a steady hand. The players needed to be in good health, but not mentally of course. They would need to be a bit… let’s say mentally ill to participate.
He gathered the game materials and carried them to a dark room in the house. The house had been built a hundred years ago and there were many staircases, tunnels, and secret passageways. Each contestant would need to find a way from one room to the next. This itself was going to be exciting.
He rigged the doorknobs with wires and anyone who touched them would receive a shock. He thought about adding a blindfold, but he wanted to give the players some shot at winning the game. Throughout the house had scattered shards of glass, razor blades, and sharp knives that could be used for defense if needed.
But mostly the players would need to save themselves from the house, more than they would be fighting off one another. When the clock struck midnight, the game would begin, and he would release each of the players in a different room and give each of them a goal. They would need to find one certain item in the house.
It was up to them to find the prize at the end, which would be their life. Unfortunately, there would be only one winner.
