The grand piano stood gleaming by the windows. With the curtains closed, the moonlight strained to touch the dark glossy finish. She had lived in many homes over the years, but this place was by far the nicest. Her new owner bought her as a center piece. She never played the piano, but the piano didn’t mind.
She was still tuned at regular intervals, and her new owner loved to take selfies with her. It was nice to know she found her beautiful since she’d been made over 100 years before. The memories this piano had would shock most string instruments. She was born in the 1920’s and she saw her share of wild parties.
The piano would marvel at her friends while they banged on her keys and the others danced and drank. She often had a few of her friends that would fall over her stool and lay there overnight. In the morning a maid would come and clean off her top and wipe down the stains from the glasses and bottles.
In the 40's she was placed in a church and she would provide soothing and joyful melodies. Those were the days. She lived there for more than fifty years. Over all the piano had a wonderful life and if her new owner wanted nothing more from her but a place to lay her head in a photo then it was okay by her.
