Castaways

I was watching a TV Show called Castaways today. I have to dvr my shows then watch when I can fit them in to my week. To watch a hour show it takes me about two hours and that counts skipping the commercials.

I can relate to this show in my daily life. I take care of Abbi who has cerebral palsy, low functioning, wheelchair or bed are where she lives her life from. Abbi eats nothing by mouth. She is tube feed her meals.

Since I am her guardian I have to take care of all her needs in life. She should be getting nursing care called private duty nurse. In our state there seems to be a nurse shortage. Which has left this duty to me 24/7. I have been unemployable due to this circumstance. Now going on my sixth year of living without an income.

I have survived and will continue too. How do I survive well? By the grace of God I am sure. Of course even God whats us to do the work that needs done. This life would not so if I had not payed off my property before having to stop working. I do get 250 dallors a month for room rent from Abbi and the same to help with utilities. Good thing Abbi has an income. I do not live off of her. She would have to give up here entire income to live someplace without me. Abbi is going to be 26 years old next month and has not been sick with even a cold for over four years now.

I am proud of her for helping me keep her healthy. Abbi could live many more years or not long at all.

The feeling of being alone in this endeavor I truly know is unfounded. Althought there are many days where I have to forge on to survive and it seems like I am on an island just like the castawys on the show.

Know that feelings are real and the fight must go on.
