I've recently visited the islands of Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora in the French Polynesia and i can assure to you that i will forever be in love with them.
It's hard to put in words what a life changing experience it was, but hey i'm gonna give it a try anyway!.
First my girlfriend and i arrived to the city of Pappeete in Tahiti and from there we took a ferry boat to the island of Moorea. It took the boat about 30 minutes to go from one island to the other.
Once in Moorea, we went straight to the Sofitel hotel where we had a reservation for an over water bungalow. Even though it can be expensive, i definitely recommend it.
Staying in an over water bungalow is a wonderful experience. Not only you are able to enjoy the view, but you are also able to go for a swimm into crystal clear water straight from your room. And at night the fish are attracted by your bungalow's light and you are able to see them from your room.
There are plenty of fish, and as soon as you dive into the water you are able to see houndreds of them.
On the next day, we rented a car and drove around the island to get to know it better.
Moorea is beautiful and we had a fantastic time there!
The next stop of our journey was the island of Bora Bora.
We arrived there by plane from Tahiti and stayed at a very short distance from Matira beach, wich is the only beach in Bora Bora. We hired a 4x4 tour around the island and into the woods wich was pretty awesome. They took us to the hills from where we were able to enjoy of a fantastic ocean view. It felt like looking through God's window.
Later that night, we went for dinner at Bloody Mary's, a Bora Bora's classic and definitely a Bora Bora's MUST do.
But the experience that made this island really unforgettable for us was when we went snorkeling with black tip sharks.
It is an instinct to be frighten by sharks. It's just survival instinct. Anyway, we were told by our guide that thay would not attack us, so we just jumped from the boat right away! (Not before kissing eache other goodbye. Just in case our guide was wrong).
The last stop of our trip was Tahiti. We had a very short time left for us to really get to know Tahiti, so we rented a car and deove around the island. It took us about 6 hours to do so.
Our time in the French Polynesia was spectacular and will forever endure in our memories. That is why i strongly recommend you get on the next plane to Tahiti and enjoy yourself with some idland time.
