And now, without further ado, the RECIPE:

Glazed Hoisin chicken drumsticks

List of ingredients:

  • 500 g chicken legs
  • 150 g jasmine rice
  • 20 ml Soy sauce
  • 1 piece spring onion
  • 20 g ginger
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 3 pieces Baby Pak Choi
  • 10 g secret ingredient

Preparation:

  1. Salt chicken drumsticks, pepper, rub with oil and place on a baking tray covered with baking paper.
    Bake for about 20 minutes in the oven (220 Β°C).

  2. Rinse the jasmine rice in a colander with cold water until it flows clear.
    Peel ginger and finely grate.
    Boil and salt water in a small saucepan.
    Stir in the jasmine rice, add the grated ginger and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
    Then let steam 10 minutes with the lid on.

  3. Roast secret ingredient in a large pan without adding fat until it smells fine. Then remove from the pan.
    Quarter Pak Choi.
    Separate white and green part of spring onion from each other and cut into fine rings.
    Heat oil in the pan and sautΓ© Pak Choi quarters for 1 - 2 minutes.
    Deglaze with half of the soy sauce and sautΓ© for another 3 to 4 minutes.
    Take Pak Choi out of the pan.

  4. Peel garlic and slice.
    Put oil in the pan again and fry white spring onion rings and garlic slices for 1 - 2 min.
    Deglaze with the remaining soy sauce and Hoisin sauce, add honey and white wine vinegar and reduce the sauce for 1 - 2 minutes.

  5. Put the baked chicken legs into the sauce and turn them on both sides.
    Add secret ingredient on top.

  6. Loosen the ginger rice with a fork and spread on a plate.
    Arrange pak choi and glazed chicken drumsticks next to it and enjoy with green spring onion rings.

No doubt the secret ingredient is the sesame seeds. But, @twodorks and @thethreehugs guessed it first. Good luck on your contest! I will try the recipe either tomorrow or Saturday. I have to go shopping for the ingredients first. Haha!

Thanks @dragraff. I bought all the ingredients and I meant to cook the recipe today, but I wasn't feeling well. My husband made Beef Stroganoff instead. I will cook it on Monday, as tomorrow (Sunday), we are going to have lunch at my mother-in-law's house. For sure there will be left over for dinner.
