Imam Shafi'i said:
"If you have a friend who always helps you in obedience to Allah, then hold on to his era, do not ever let him go. Because finding a good friend is hard, but releasing it is so easy. "
It is narrated that: If the inhabitants of heaven have entered into it, then they have not found friends who were always with them first in the world. They ask Allah Almighty:
"Yes Rabb ... we do not see our friends who in the world of prayer with us, fasting with us, and struggling with us" So Allah replied:
"Go to hell, then remove your friend in whose heart there is faith even if only for zarrah."

Manisnya ikatan iman dan islam
Imam Syafi’I berkata :
“Jika engkau punya teman yg selalu membantumu dalam rangka ketaatan kepada Allah,maka peganglah era-erat dia,jangan pernah kau lepaskannya. Karena mencari teman baik itu susah,tetapi melepaskannya sangat mudah sekali.”
Diriwayatkan bahwa : Apabila penghuni syurga telah masuk ke dalamnya,lalu mereka tidak menemukan sahabat-sahabat yang selalu bersama mereka dahulu di dunia. Mereka bertanya kepada Allah swt :
“Ya Rabb…kami tidak melihat sahabat-sahabat kami yg sewaktu di dunia shalat bersama kami,puasa bersama kami,dan berjuang bersama kami” Maka Allah menjawab :
“Pergilah ke neraka,lalu keluarkan sahabatmu yg di hatinya ada iman walaupun hanya sebesar zarrah.”
(H.R. Ibnul Mubarak dalam kitab “Az-Zuhd”)
