Reflections on leading a horse to water.

What follows isn't mine. I know that's flat rotten, but I don't care. Kris is a grand friend of mine who leads an extraordinary life simply because Nobody Can Stop Him. He's a modern pioneer, in the most romantic of senses. And he is an inspiration to just about everybody who knows him.

He has changed many destinies, in many ways, usually without meaning to. I doubt that Steemit was meant for gushing about your idols, but... Well, yeah. I idolize this guy, to a degree. He inhabits (or is inhabited) by an oddly beatific paradigm. He is utterly pitiless, for instance, because pity is a poor excuse for compassion. It's just a strange and lovely place. And he helped set The Abraxus Initiative in motion, though he knows it not.

So I'm poaching him from D-Sector, whether he likes it or not. Engage. ;-)

Life.

Life is not where you are, where you work, who you interact with, or what you read.

Life is what you "learn" each and every day.
...no matter where you are.

Life is "how" you work, and how much passion you put into your work.
...no matter how much you like your job.

Life is how you let the people you interact with "influence" you, and what you learn from them.
...even if you don't respect them.

Life is what you think when you read. It's healthy to read things you disagree with, because it forces you to examine "Why" you disagree.
...even if it seems like a waste of time.

So don't regret where you are...learn from it.
Treat your job with the same enthusiasm as your hobbies, and better things "will" open up for you.
Interact with everyone, but only embrace positive influences. Everyone has something to teach you...even if it's only a good example of what "Not" to do.

...and most importantly of all...

read, read, READ!

Books, kindles, web articles, manuals, textbooks, how-to's, the back of the shampoo bottle, the directions in your electronics.

T.V., movies, and games are too rushed. It's all about quicker, quicker, boom, pow, next scene, commercial break, buy this, action scene...you aren't left with time to reflect, and think. You can only sit there and let the images come in, at the speed they are broadcast.

Read...and take time to think about what you have read. There is no such thing as wasted time spent reflecting. Seek out topics or genres you wouldn't normally choose. Never limit yourself.

Life isn't every day.

Life is what you get out of every day.

Think, grow, try, fail, love, cry...Live Life.

Life is the most passionate adventure there is.
